Kano State Govt. spends N27m to beef up Fire Service

Kano - The Kano State Government spent N27 million to buy communication gadgets, radio equipment and uniform materials to beef up the Fire Service in the state, the Director of the Service, Alhaji Balarabe Kabara, said.

He said in Kano on Wednesday that the radio communication gadgets had been installed in the zonal offices, while the uniform materials were sent to 970 officers.

He said that zonal offices located in Kurna, Sharada, Rijiyar Zaki, Rano and Gwarzo were being beefed up to ease communication during emergency.

He added that the uniform materials were crucial to boosting the morale of staff of the Service as they would now be neat and smart.

Kabara explained that the state government promised to upgrade the Fire Service College at Dakata to international standard.

He added that the College offered training on fire safety courses to participants from all over the world.
