Abuja – Kaduna State Governor Malam Nasir
Ahmad El-Rufai, is mourning the passing of his foster father, renowned
educationist and former Permanent Secretary of Federal Ministry of Education,
Malam Yahaya Hamza.
Hamza died on Tuesday in Kaduna after a brief illness.
“The Governor will miss the wisdom and counsel of this
great man who became a father to him and guided his steps with tender
firmness,” El-Rufai's spokesperson, Samuel Aruwan, said.
He added that the governor prayed Allah to grant him
aljanah firdaus, and to grant the family fortitude.

Born in 1935, the deceased had a distinguished career in
Among the positions he held was office of Secretary to
the Kaduna State Government. That came after a long and successful service in
the education sector.
He was also chairman of the council of the West African Examination Council (WAEC).
Hamza is survived by his wives, children, grandchildren
He will be buried in Kaduna later on Wednesday.
