Lagos - Two men will appear in court on Friday following their arrest on alleged possession of fraudulent foreign and local currencies.
Badamasi Alhassan will appear before Justice Fatu Riman of Federal High Court in Kano on a three-count charge bordering on possession of counterfeit currencies amounting to 108 pieces of counterfeit N1 000 each.
Operatives of the Department of State Service (DSS), in a sting operation, arrested the suspect in November last year following a report alleging that he was circulating counterfeit money .
The accused pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody pending hearing of bail application.

In a related development, the commission recently arraigned one Mannir Mohammed, also known as Garkuwan Malaman, on a one count charge bordering possession of counterfeit three pieces of counterfeit US$100 bills.
He will appear before Justice Babagana Ashgar of the Federal High Court Katsina also on Friday.
The DSS arrested the suspect last December following report that he was circulating counterfeit local and foreign currency.
The accused pleaded not guilty and was remanded in prison custody.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is seeking their prosecution.
