Katsina threatens to revoke plots

13 March 2013, 15:01

Katsina -  Katsina State Government on Wednesday warned beneficiaries of plots located at Katsina commercial layout to develop them or have their allocations revoked.

The plots, located on Kano road in Katsina metropolis, were allocated to organisations and individuals in 2009 for commercial purposes.

The state Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Alhaji Nasidi Danladi, gave the warning during an inspection visit to the layout.

He expressed dismay that in spite of early warning given to the owners in June last year, some of the plots were yet to be developed.

“This is the last warning for affected allottees to develop the plots or have them revoked and re-allocated to more serious applicants.”

He noted that the state government had allotted the commercial layout to the people with the aim of improving the economy of the state.

Danladi said government would continue to monitor the site, to ensure full compliance.
