Katsina youth "overconsuming" libido drugs

Abuja - The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) is concerned at the high rate Katsina State youth are reportedly consuming sex enhancement drugs.

The agency lamented assumed demand for the drugs in the markets.

NAFDAC Coordinator in Katsina, Suleiman Muyiddeen, said due to the porous nature of the country's borders, tramodol capsules and sex enhancement drugs were smuggled in large quantities into the state.

Muyiddeen said although the agency allow for the use of Tramadol up to 120mg, youth were consuming as much as 200mg.

He said the agency has confiscated tramadol 200mg and sex enhancement drugs in large quantities from markets and patent medicine stores.

He warned that henceforth the agency would seal any patent medicine store found selling tramadol a d sex enhancement drugs, and their owners would be charged to court.

Meanwhile, the agency had registered 149 pure water companies as part of measures to rid the state of illegal water companies. Muyiddeen called on the people of the state to report to the agency any person they suspected to be operating illegally.
