Birnin Kebbi - The Kebbi State Government on Monday appointed new sole administrators, assistants and councillors for its development area councils.
A statement by the Secretary to the State Government, Nurudeen Kangiwa, in Birnin Kebbi, said the administrators and councillors of Shanga and Fakai were not affected by the changes.
Some of the appointees included Aliyu Bakuwai for Giro/Suru; Atiku Magaji, Kukah/Nayilwa; Thomas Masara, Sanchi/Manga/Ushe and Ibrahim Usman for Karishi development areas.
Others are Samaye Mua'azu for Zagga; Salisu Suleiman, Bayawa/Tiggi and Abdulrazak Abdullahi for Lailaba/Gulma.
The appointments took effect from Monday.
Abubakar Mua'azu, the Chief Press Secretary to Gov. Sa'idu Dakingari, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) that the former administrators, assistants and councillors were redeployed.
He explained that the appointments were political and due to the elections in the development areas that created some vacuum.
