Kebbi - The Kebbi Government has donated 2,000 bags of grains to flood victims in Niger Republic, an official said.
Yahaya Chindo, the Executive Director of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) said in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday, that the beneficiaries were victims in Birnin Bayaro and Doso in Niger Republic settlements.
Chindo said that the grains included rice, millet, Guinea corn and beans.
He said that the donation was part of efforts to strengthen social, economic and political relationship, among border communities in Niger republic and the state.
According to him, the gesture is also a demonstration of brotherly concern to neighbours that share a lot in common.
"Helping the victims was equal to helping victims in the state."
He said the materials were formally received by top officials of the country who had expressed gratitude.
Chindo,said the agency was also intensifying assistance to flood victims in the state and commended Gov Saidu Dakingari for the prompt response to request for assistance to the flood victims.
