Kogi - The Kogi Government on Thursday relaxed the dusk to dawn curfew it imposed on Okene town and its environs.
In a statement in Lokoja, Mr Yabagi Bologi, the Commissioner for Information, said the curfew would now be observed in Okene from 9 p.m. till 6a.m. instead of 6p.m. to 6a.m.
He said that commercial motorcyclists operating in Lokoja could now operate from 6a.m. to 9p.m.
He urged residents to strictly observe the curfew, adding that the security agents had been mandated to arrest offenders.
The commissioner urged the people to be law abiding and security conscious and report suspicious movements to the security agencies.
The curfew imposed on Okene and restriction in the time of operation of commercial motorcyclists in Lokoja followed the killing of 17 worshippers at Deeper Life Bible Church at Eikha-Adagu on Aug. 6
The parlous security situation in the state was further exacerbated by the killing of two soldiers in Okene on Aug. 7 by yet to be identified gunmen.
