Konduga - Families of the people killed this past weekend in a terror attack have each received N250 000 in compensation.
Borno State Governor, Alhaji Kashim Shettima, also came to the rescue of victims whose houses were burnt, donating between N100 000 and N400 000.
The premier donated a further N5 million and four vehicles to boost the activities of the youth vigilante known as the civilian Joint Task Force (JTF). Shettima, who addressed the people in Kanuri, said the cash donations would help cushion families from the hardships they were facing following the death of their loves ones.
“What happened is unfortunate and you (victims) should understand that whatever happens to you affects us all and we identify with you at this hour of grief,” Shettima said.
The outlawed Boko Haram laid claim to the killings in Konduga.
Witnesses said the assailants came in seven Golf Volkswagen cars and deployed sophisticated weapons.
