Kwara - Two nursery and primary schools have been shutdown in Ganmo in Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara by the state Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development.
They are Mascot Academy Nursery and Primary School and Crescent Deen Nursery and Primary School.
The schools were shutdown on Tuesday by the ministry during an on-the-spot assessment of some private schools in the state.
The ministry said the closure was with immediate effect.
Alhaji Abubakar Bello-Mohammed, the Director, Quality Assurance Bureau of the ministry, said during the inspection that the State Government would not compromise quality in the education sector.
Bello- Mohammed, who is also the Chairman of the state taskforce, warned private schools operating under unconducive environment to close immediately or face the wrath of the government.
He advised parents to always seek for clarification from the ministry before enrolling their children in private schools.
He said the monitoring was a continuous exercise.
One of the closed schools was found using a bakery for its operations and with the pupils learning under the sun.
