Kwara donates N.1m to fire victim

30 November 2012, 14:07 -

Kwara - The  Kwara Government on Friday in Ilorin  donated N100 000 to Baba Podo,  a fire victim in the state.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Podo’s residence  located at  Okaka Ward in Ilorin South Local Government Area was recently gutted by fire.

Musa Abdulahi, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Emergency and Relief Services, presented the cheque on behalf of the state government.

Abdullahi, however, urged the people of the state to refrain from acts that could cause fire disasters.

He said that the governor  was deeply touched by the incident  in which the victim sustained serious injuries.

Responding on behalf of the family, Podo expressed gratitude  to  the state government over  the sympathy visit and cash donation.
