Kwara promotes 12 000 teachers

Kwara - Gov. Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara has said that 12 000 teachers in the state were promoted to boost productivity in the education sector.

This is contained in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Media and Communication, Mr Muideen Akorede, in Ilorin on Wednesday.

According to him, the promotion will go a long way to enhance teachers’ economic welfare.

Ahmed pledged the State Government’s commitment to the enhancement of the civil servants’ conditions of service in line with performance contracting.

He urged the newly-promoted teachers to reciprocate the gesture by redoubling their efforts to provide qualitative education to their students.

He promised that civil servants who excel in their appraisals would be duly promoted.

The governor said that civil servants due for the next batch of promotions were writing the qualification examinations prelude to the oral interviews.

It would be recalled that 10 046 primary and 2 105 secondary school teachers were promoted in the state.
