30 September 2015, 08:46Augustine Osayande

Abuja - Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode, has expressed sadness over the death of foremost technocrat and industrialist, Gamaliel Onosode.

“Onosode was one of the few Nigerians who ruled the boardroom. A quintessential businessman, he was also a master in his field and deeply religious," said Ambode.

Ambode said the late former Adviser to President Shehu Shagari would be remembered for the dexterity he brought to bear when he served as chairman and board member of several multinational companies.

“I wish to convey my deepest condolences to the Onosode family on behalf of the good people of Lagos state. This is indeed a  sad loss,” Ambode said.

The governor also prayed that Almighty God grant the soul of the departed peaceful repose and for the family, the fortitude to bear the loss.

Onosode died on Tuesday morning at the age of 82.

A son, Ese Onosode, who confirmed the passing of his father, did not disclose the cause of the death.
