Lagos - The Lagos State Police Command on Monday presented a suspected armed robber, whose gang robbed passengers along the Benin-Shagamu Expressway on New Year’s Eve.

The spokesperson of the command, DSP Ngozi Braide, told newsmen that the suspect was arrested with G.U.O. Okoli bus with Reg. No. XT 760 LSD in Lagos.

Braide said that the gang robbed the transport company that conveyed passengers during the just-concluded festival.

"A Rapid Respond Squad police patrol at the boundary between Lagos and Ogun at Berger saw the bus and suspected that something was wrong.

"The policemen chased the bus and intercepted it at Otedola Bridge, near Lagos old toll gate.

"One improvised bullet proof made from sack bag was recovered.

"The suspect claimed that he was to dump the bus at Jibowu.
