Lagos transport union boss assassinated

Lagos - Unidentified gunmen have killed the Chairman, National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Yaba Unit, Babajide Dosunmu, a.k.a Mados in the Oyingbo area of Lagos State, Punch reports.

The former Vice Chairman, Lagos Mainland branch of the NURTW, was reportedly shot dead at the back of his house by the assailants while parking his car around 8pm on Tuesday.

He was said to have been fell by a bullet that hit him in the leg when he attempted to run for his life. Not done, the gang allegedly shot him in the buttock, while another bullet pierced his heart region, leaving him in a pool of blood.

The incident created panic in the area as commercial activities in the Oyingbo area were partly grounded as of 1pm on Wednesday.

Mados was said to have been rushed to a nearby hospital, but was declared dead on arrival.
