Lagos - The legislator representing Rivers South-East Senatorial District in the National Assembly, Magnus Abe, has mourned the passing his colleague, Senator Khalifa Zanna.
He described the death of as shocking and painful.
Zanna, who was representing Borno Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly where he was Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Gas and Member, Senate Committee on Navy, died on Saturday at the National Hospital, Abuja. He succumbed to liver cancer aged 60.

“Zanna was an advocate of a united Nigeria; he was passionate about a lasting solution to the problem of insurgency in the North-East; he was committed to a prosperous Nation as propounded by our change vehicle, the All Progressives Congress,” Abe said.
Abe, the Chairman Senate Committee on Petroleum (Downstream), noted that Zanna was a successful businessman with good track record in Public Service.
“We therefore join his family and Nigerians to mourn his demise and pray that his soul rest in peace,” Abe said.
