Lagos - Bisi Yusuf, Chairman, Lagos state House of assembly Committee on Transport and Industry, on Sunday denied claims that the state government would reduce the operational hours of commercial vehicles in the state.
Yusuf said that the claim that operational hours of commercial vehicles would be reduced to eight hours was a misconception.
The lawmaker said that it was not in the policy of the government to do so, but such a rumour was just a misinterpretation.
The lawmaker added that more efforts were in progress to improve the transport system in the state.
Yusuf said that many roads have been constructed while others were still under construction, adding that effective transportation system could not be achieved without good roads.
The lawmaker commended the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) for training its members on road use and transportation in the state.
