Lawmaker lauds Buhari’s transparency, accountability posture

02 July 2015, 06:55

Abuja - Representative Aliyu Ahman-Pategi, Member of the House of Representatives on Wednesday, said President Muhammadu Buhari’s resolve on transparency and accountability remained the solace for the people.

Ahman-Pategi, Chairman of the North-Central Caucus of the House said this in an interview in Abuja.

He said that posture had continued to endear the public to the All Progressive Congress (APC) led administration.

According to him, the president continues to build on public trust with recent directive that all revenue accruing to the nation be paid into the Consolidation Account.

He said that the people trusted the president to normalise challenges associated with the remittances of funds into the consolidated revenue account.

He said that the legislature would do the country great service when it aligned its activities to support the worthy policies of government.

"So, this is a welcome development and I congratulate President Mohammadu Buhari, who is truly transparent on issues relating to government finances.

"And the better life that the people seek cannot begin without putting all government revenues on the table so that it can now be allocated to various sectors equitably," he said.
