Abuja – Guests at official functions will be enjoying local bread and cassava bread in the future as President Goodluck Jonathan has ordered them to be mandatory at such events, Vanguard reports.
Jonathan explained during a national broadcast that this decision was an effort by government to promote the agricultural transformation agenda. He also added that he is sticking to his own policy and regularly eats locally produced rice and cassaca bread.
Government hopes that this initiative will create 3,5 million jobs as well as increase local food supply with 20 million metric tonnes by 2015.
