Enugu - The police in Enugu said on Thursday they have arrested one Chiebolam Eze for the murder of his uncle over a piece of land.
A statement from the spokesperson of the Enugu State Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, said Eze, who hailed form Imilike Agu in Udenu Local Government Area, allegedly killed his uncle, Christopher Eze, on Wednesday with a stick.
According to the statement, the victim, 65, was having an issue with his cousin over a piece of land.
It also alleged that the deceased conspired with others and destroyed the art works of the suspect without his consent.
The statement also said the victim raised a cutlass on the suspect who in self defence hit his uncle on the head which led to his instant death.
It said the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary in Udenu for autopsy as investigations were intensified.
