Ibadan - A 35-year-old man, Ike Sunday, was
arraigned before an Ibadan Chief Magistrates’ Court sitting at Iyaganku
on Monday for alleged fraud of N300, 000.
Ike was arraigned on a two-count charge of fraud and stealing.
The prosecutor, Insp Adewale Amos, told the court that Ike
obtained and collected the sum from one Akunjinwa Kingsley of Oke
Amos said that the accused obtained the money under the false
pretence of supplying him two photocopy machines knowing this to be
He alleged that Ike converted the money to his own use.
The alleged crime was said to have been committed in January at College Crescent, Oke-Ado, Ibadan.
Amos said the offence contravened sections 419 and 390 (9) of the Criminal Code Cap. 38, Vol. 11, Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The accused, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Chief Magistrate Fatima Badrudeen granted the accused bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum.
