Abuja - A Kado Grade 1 Area Court in Abuja has sentenced an 18-year-old man, Ogodo Nnaemezie, to one month imprisonment for pick-pocketing.
The convict, a labourer, who lives at Gwagwa, Abuja, had pleaded guilty to the offence.
The Judge, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq, who handed down the verdict, however, gave the convict an option of N5, 000 fine.

Earlier, the prosecutor, Inspector Simon Ibrahim, told the court that the case was reported at the Utako Police Station in Abuja on March 16 by one Godson Onnukwe of Jabi Park, Abuja.
Ibrahim said the accused was caught committing the offence at Gidan-wanka, Jabi Park.
Ibrahim said the offence contravened Section 96 of the Penal Code.
