Abuja - The Nigerian military has disputed comments attributed to unnamed officials Chadian military officers the former were "afraid" to take over the security of Gamboru in Borno State.
This follows its recent liberation by troops from Chad.
“There are lots of false information and irresponsible comments being attributed to some foreign sources, which we want to avoid," read a statement from the Nigerian Defense Headquarters.

"Responding to purely because we want to believe such is coming from responsible officers or officials of that country.”
The Nigerian Defense Headquarters said responding to such claims could cause unnecessary distraction in the counter terrorists operations.
"We will not respond for now.”
