Military scoffs at Boko Haram rocket factory

04 November 2015, 07:48Augustine Osayande

Abuja - The armed forces have dismissed some recent photos released by the Boko Haram group suggesting the terrorists' superior capacity.

The images bore a rocket-making factory in north-eastern Nigeria.

The Defense said the pictures wee a ploy by terrorists to create apprehension and panic among citizens.

The armed forces said the insurgents aimed to prove they were still alive to their "unholy, barbaric and unethical conduct.”

It added that the tactics were nothing but empty threats which would not shield terrorists from defeat.

“For avoidance of doubt, this and other tactics are nothing but empty threats which will not help them from being defeated,” the Defense stated from Abuja.

“This shows that the terrorists are true enemies of Nigerians. Therefore we must collectively condemn and stand firm to finish them," added the Defense.

The Military is engaged in fierce battles against the militant Boko Haram sect whose activities have led to the deaths of some 15 000 people in recent years.
