Kaduna - The Minister of Environment, Lawrencia Mallam, on Monday, condoled with the people of Kaura Local Government Area of Kaduna State over the loss of lives following recent attack in the area.
The minister described the incident as barbaric and unwarranted, adding that government will not fold its hands and watch perpetrators of the dastardly act to continue with their nefarious activities.
She urged the people to be vigilant and alert security agencies if they noticed any unusual movement of people or faces which they were not comfortable with.
The minister urged youths in the community not to take the laws into their hands and to consider the incident as an act of God.
Responding, Daniel Anyip, the Vice Chairman of Kaura Local Government, thanked the minister for the visit.
Anyip said the council would do everything possible to cushion the effect of the attack on the people.
At the palace of the paramount ruler of the affected community, Tagwai Sambo, the Chief of Moro'a, thanked the minister for the visit.
He promised the minister that the traditional council would continue to preach peace to the people and urged the people to tolerate and accommodate one another in all circumstances.
The minister also visited the camp where more than 4 000 displaced persons were taking refuge where she appealed to them to exercise patience over the incidence.
She also visited the three affected villages which were already deserted.
