Maiduguri - The fear of falling into the trap of Boko Haram insurgents on Monday forced motorists and passengers away from the busy Maiduguri-Damaturu highway in Borno State, reports Leadership.
Many motorists and travellers were stranded on the dangerous highway linking the capitals of Borno and Yobe states as Boko Haram terrorists operated for over five hours.
Hundreds of travelers and motorists were stranded for close to seven hours as the highway was declared unsafe.

Some towns along the highway were destroyed as the attacking terrorists went wild shooting and setting ablaze virtually everything in these towns.
A gang of heavily armed Boko Haram terrorists invaded these towns at about 2pm and continued to unleash terror on the hapless residents as well as unlucky motorists who ran into them
