Abuja - The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has constituted a five-member committee to drive implementation of the sectorisation of the Lagos sub-Flight Information Region (FIR).
According to a document obtained by CAJ News, Deputy General Manager in the Operations Directorate, Andrew Amedu, heads the committee.
The committee’s terms of reference include restructuring the Lagos-Kano sub-FIR boundaries with a view to alleviating the cumbersomeness sometimes experienced by pilots with radio frequency changes.

This move is also expected to reduce the workload of both pilots and Air Traffic Controllers such that Lagos Sector (East) will handle all traffic to the East and South East while Lagos Sector (West) would handle that of West and South West axis of Nigeria.
The committee has two weeks to submit its report.
