Port Harcourt - The National Emergency
Management Agency (NEMA) on Monday presented relief materials to victims of fire
incident that destroyed property in Nbodo community in Aluu, Ikwere Local
Government Area of Rivers.
The NEMA Zonal Coordinator, South- South, Mr Benjamin
Oghenah, presented the materials to the Rivers Ministry of Special Duties in
Oghenah said the presentation of the materials was to
complement state government’s effort in alleviating the sufferings of the
community after their houses were destroyed by fire.

He urged the community leaders to ensure equitable
distribution of the items to the victims Mrs Ibaniba Briggs-Iti, the Permanent
Secretary, Ministry of Special Duties, who handed over the materials to the
community leaders, urged them not to sell them, but distribute them equally to

In his speech, Mr Okachi Ordu, a youth leader, commended
NEMA and pledged to distribute the materials evenly to the victims.
