NEMA reaches out to IDPs in borders

28 September 2015, 10:05Emeka Okonkwo

Abuja - The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has provided relief material to internally displaced persons (IDPs) along the country’s borders.

The donation came as Muslims celebrated the Islamic Festival of Eid-Kabir, also known as Sallah.

Abdulkadir Ibrahim, NEMA North East Zone Information Officer, said the relief distribution is in continuation of the strategic efforts of the agency to reach out and provide support to IDPS living along the border towns.

Some of the items delivered to the IDPs included tents, clothing, cooking utensils and food.

The Secretary General of Diffa, Hassan Ardo Ide, received the team on behalf of the Government of Niger Republic. – CAJ News
