Abuja - The National Emergency Management
Agency (NEMA) has provided relief material to internally displaced persons
(IDPs) along the country’s borders.
The donation came as Muslims celebrated the Islamic
Festival of Eid-Kabir, also known as Sallah.
Abdulkadir Ibrahim, NEMA North East Zone Information
Officer, said the relief distribution is in continuation of the strategic
efforts of the agency to reach out and provide support to IDPS living along the

The NEMA's North-East zonal office delivered some of the
items in Diffa, a border town in Niger Republic, which is hosting IDPs from
Nigeria hitherto residing in communities along the Nigeria/Niger border like
Shettimari and Gagamari.
Some of the items delivered to the IDPs included tents,
clothing, cooking utensils and food.
The Secretary General of Diffa, Hassan Ardo Ide, received
the team on behalf of the Government of Niger Republic. – CAJ News
