(NESREA) has sealed six companies in Enugu for non-compliance with
The Enugu State Coordinator of the agency, Mr Ralph Nnam, told the News
Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Enugu on Wednesday that the companies were
Arab Contractors, OAO Ltd, Alo Aluminums Coy, DVC Plastics, Hardis and
Dromadas Nig. Ltd and Hargage Coy Ltd.
``We held a meeting with the Hon. Commissioner for Environment on Oct. 24 and the meeting was on why the facilities were sealed.
``And we explained the reasons for the sealing. It is as a result of
non-compliance to the standards and regulation and we stated during the
meeting how far we went up to the time of sealing.
``That we have paid familiarisation visit to all the facilities and then
we have done inspections of the facilities and from the inspection we
have issued notifications of the compliance concerns.
``Meaning things were observed that were not properly done. During our
inspections we highlighted them all, in our compliance concerns then
these were followed by abatement notices so all these were not complied

concerns none of them complied with, then we went ahead to issue
abatement notices, in some cases twice, not complied then we now sealed
