NSCDC urges Sokoto residents to be vigilant

14 August 2012, 07:42

Sokoto - Alhaji Aminu Kofar Soro, Sokoto State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), has called on the people of the state to be security-conscious.

Kofar Soro made the appeal on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Sokoto against the backdrop of security challenges in the country.

“All efforts should be geared towards sensitising the people on the need to offer intelligence reports to security agencies in confronting the current security challenges facing the country.”

He said this would enable the security agencies to adopt tactics to tackle the security situation.

Kofar Soro said that since the activities of terrorists had taken a new dimension, the people must be watchful in their daily activities.

The commandant said that plain cloth officers of the command had been deployed to all parts of the state to gather intelligence information for the security of the state.

He implored traditional and religion leaders in the state to sensitise the people on the need to be security conscious.
