Abuja - 213 staff of the National Universities Commission, NUC, in December 2013 were overpaid with more than N220 million, Premium Times reports.
The blunder was caused by one of the consultants handling the Federal Government’s Integrated Personnel & Payroll Information System, (IPPIS).
According to Premium Times though a query was issued to the erring consultant from the office of the Accountant General of the Federation, AGF, there is still an uncertainty on how to recover the money.
A top official of the IPPIS in Abuja told Premium Times that workers who spent part of the money during the Christmas period now risk being sacked, or their salaries being withheld.
