Nasarawa gets new Head of Service

17 April 2013, 15:32

-Nasarawa- Gov. Tanko Al-Makura of Nasarawa state has approved the appointment of Dominic Bako as the new Head of the Civil Service (HOS) of the state.

A statement signed by Amoyi Bulus, the Permanent Secretary (Administration) in the office of the Secretary to State Government (SSG), indicated that the appointment was with immediate effect.

It said that until his appointment, Bako was the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Finance.

It said he would be taking over from Dr Amos Akawu, who was recently appointed as a commissioner in the Al-Makura administration.

Bako is expected to be inaugurated on Wednesday by Al-Makura alongside the 17 newly appointed commissioners.

Six of the former commissioners, including the former SSG, Hamza Elayo, were reappointed.

It will be recalled that the governor had dissolved his cabinet in January with an explanation to bring in new hands to ensure better governance.
