Abuja - The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Mohammed Abubakar, has promoted more than 60 senior officers to various Police Commands and Formations.
According to officials, the move is part of measures aimed at ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in the fight against crimes and criminalities.
Police Public Relations Officer, Frank Mba, confirmed the appointments.
He said all postings took immediate effect.
He said the IGP congratulated the newly-promoted officers.
"The IGP commended the commitment and unique sacrifice with which the officers have been discharging their duties,” Mba stated.
He stated the elevation of the officers was based on merit and they are therefore expected to be more committed in carrying out the responsibilities of their new ranks.
"The IGP further enjoined them to blaze the trail of providing quality leadership to their subordinate officers, in consonance with the on-going reformation agenda of the Force," Mba added.
