Abuja - The Nigerian Army has released special telephone lines and emails through which members of the public can report terror activities.
Brig. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiru, Director of the Army Public Relations, said the objective of the initiative, was to aid the Army as well as other security agencies to overcome the threat of terrorism in the country.
He urged the citizens to contribute to the campaign to eliminate terror by reporting such threats and actions to the Nigerian Army Information Alert System.
"The Army will remain agile and proactive by continually enhancing Nigeria's capability to pre-empt, dislocate, and disrupt the terrorism threat. This will be achieved through effective collaboration with other security agencies in order to defeat terrorists and other criminal elements and ensure the safety of lives and property of law abiding citizens," said Attahiru.
“To this end, the Army calls for the support of all good citizens in its fight against terrorism by providing information through the NA alert system.”

Attahiru promised that the force would embark on a constant review of its “strategies toward greater sophistication in tackling the security challenges facing the country.”
He explained that the recent arrest of suspected terrorists in Lagos was a confirmation of the vigilance and determination of Nigerians to prevent the scourge from spreading from the North to other parts of the country.
