Newspaper vendor killed for declining a reader

Calabar - A newspaper vendor in Calabar, Innocent Monday-Francis, has been murdered after an argument with a neighbour over reading a newspaper for free, Punch reports.

Monday-Francis who sold newspapers around the Flour Mill junction in Calabar, had gone to a bar at Ikot-Effanga area of Calabar to drink when the incident occurred.

The deceased’s younger brother alleged that the assailant had picked up one of the deceased’s newspapers to read but the vendor told him not to read any of the papers.
