Nigeria To Sign Bilateral Air Services Agreement With Israel

Lagos - The aviation ministry is not having the best of weeks, it emerged that ministry allegedly purchased bullet-proof cars valued at N250milion. However there is good news for travelers, especially those who fly to the middle-east for pilgrimage. Nigeria and Israel will sign a Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA), which paves the way for direct flights to both countries, CHANNELS reports .

Pilgrims will be elated with the news, considering that they were compelled to stop-over before reaching Israel.

President Goodluck Jonanthan will this week make his way to Israel on a pilgrimage which will coincide with a state visit. The agreement has been stamped through after months of negotiations between the Department of Transportation of the State of Israel and Nigeria’s Federal Ministry of Aviation. Nigeria's planes have come under scrutiny in recent months with two plane crashes still fresh in travelers minds.
