Uyo - The federal government on Sunday said it secured a $1 billion (N159 billion) loan to enhance the distribution of gas supply to power stations across the country.
Speaking during a visit to the Aluminium Smelter Company of Nigeria (ALSCON), the director-general of the Bureau of Public Enterprises (BPE), Benjamin Diki, said the loan would be used for the development and expansion of the country's gas infrastructure.
This Day Live quoted Diki as saying the loan would serve as an intervention fund in the power sector.
Diki was, however, silent on where the government secured the loan from.
