Lagos - Prof. Barth Nnaji, the Minister of Power, on Tuesday in Lagos revealed that the Federal Government has put in place plans to generate 75% of the country’s electricity from natural gas, with its deposit of 184 trillion cubic feet. Daily Times reports
Addressing participants at the opening session of the Federal Ministry of Trade and Investment’s workshop on 'Enhancing the Productivity of our Industries', Nnaji said that by 2014, power generation would have increased to 15,000 megawatts.
He added that the government was working to ensure that gas is used as a raw material to increase the power generation by 75%, while 25% will be generated from coal and hydropower.
