Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia shuns Buhari’s family

09 July 2015, 18:59

Abuja - For reasons yet unknown, the Nigerian Embassy in Saudi Arabia earlier in the week snubbed  the family of President Muhammadu Buhari, reports Leadership.

The wife of the President, Aisha and her five children were in Mecca, for the lesser Hajj (Umrah) in Saudi Arabia.

The embassy officials gave preferential treatment to former Vice President Namadi Sambo and his entourage of 15 family members over that of President Buhari’s family.

Both families arrived for the lesser pilgrimage at about the same time.

While Aisha Buhari and her five children were allotted two-bedroom accommodation, the former Vice President was allotted an eight-room apartment.

Again, while a protocol officer and vehicles from the embassy were attached to the former Vice President and his family, not a single protocol officer or vehicle was posted by the embassy to attend to the President’s family.
