Abuja - The Defence Headquarters on Tuesday said no general in the Nigerian Army is under court-martial.
This is according to a statement issued in Abuja and signed by Maj-.Gen Chris Olukolade, Director of Defence Information.
The statement said DHQ wishes to state categorically that there is no truth whatsoever to reports that claimed that an army court martial had tried 15 senior officers, including ten generals, for aiding terrorists.
The story was published in some dailies and propagated by some online media.
“This falsehood had previously been refuted when it first reared its head but those concocting it appear hell bent on misleading Nigerians and the international community.”
“It has become inevitable to reassure the general public that any ongoing disciplinary process or trial will be made public when necessary.”
