Abuja - The Ministry of Defence has claimed that they are
not involved in the procurement of arms for the armed forces in the recent
years, Punch reported.
President Muhammadu Buhari directed the ministry to be
involved in the 13-man investigative committee to probe procurement of
ammunition in the Armed Forces.
The Ministry met in the President Villa to brief Buhari and
others on the activities of the ministry.

The Ministry's Permanent Secretary, Aliyu Ismaila, stated
that the ministry was involved in the purchases but in recent years the
responsibility was shifted to other services, being the military.
