Kwara - The Governor of Kwara State, Alhaji Ahmed, has
expressed that no new taxes will be assigned in the state, Punch reported.
This comes after the creation of the Kwara State Internal
Revenue Services where it would boost the internally generated revenue of the

Alhaji gave the assurance during a presentation that was
held in the Baruten Local Government area for the welcoming of the new Emir of
the town, Prof Halidu Abubakar.
According to Ahmed, the mandate of KIRS is to change the
collection process of existing taxes. The aim is to establish new ones in all
sectors and further inject money into entrepreneurial development.
