Sango-Ota - An Ota Magistrates' Court in Ogun on Thursday remanded a 25-year-old man, Lekan Balogun, in prison custody over alleged armed robbery.
Balogun, whose address is unknown, is being tried for armed robbery.
When the matter came up for hearing, the Police Prosecutor, Ebibomino Itaita, told the court that the accused committed the offence on June 7 at about 8.00 a.m. at Victory Estate off Alishiba, Ota.

He alleged that the accused, who was armed with a cutlass, attempted to rob one Emmanuel Ogungbayi of his property, but unfortunately he was caught.
He said the offence contravened Sections 80, 403 (1) and 516 of the Criminal Code Revised Laws of the Ogun State, 2006.
The Chief Magistrate, Funke Odubanjo, ordered that the accused be remanded in Oba Prisons in Abeokuta, pending advice from the State Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP).
She adjourned the case till July 9 for mention.
