Ogun to immortalise HID Awolowo

Abeokuta - The Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, has said the state government will immortalise the late Chief Hannah Dideolu Awolowo, Punch reports.

He said this on Sunday while speaking with journalists at the Ikenne country home of the Awolowos, during his condolence visit to the family.

The governor the late matriarch of the Awolowo dynasty, was the last of the hegemony of human capital available to Ogun State and beyond, a good mother, a devoted, dedicated, supportive and loyal wife.

HID Awolowo died shortly on September 19 after a meeting with her family members, who were said to be planning for her 100th birthday.

Her death occurred 28 years after the departure of her husband and late elder statesman, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, who died on May 9, 1987.
