Ogun to improve dental health

24 July 2013, 07:31

Abeokuta - The Ogun government has began another phase in the renovation of public health facilities in the state, its' Commissioner for Health, Dr Olaokun Soyinka, has said.

He said this in a statement issued in Abeokuta on Tuesday by his Press Officer, Seun Oyelade.

The commissioner said the state government was, as part of the project, renovating dental centres located at Abeokuta, Sagamu, Ilaro, Ijebu-Ode and Ota.

The statement further quoted the commissioner as saying that the dental centres were being upgraded and properly equipped.

"Oral hygiene has suffered neglect in the past, and the importance of oral hygiene as an integral part of health care delivery is immeasurable.

"In view of its importance, oral health is therefore being integrated into primary health care programmes in the state,’’ it quoted the commissioner as saying.

"The importance of prevention in health care is enormous, and the present administration remains committed to making health care affordable to all,’’ Soyinka was quoted as saying.
