Ogun - One person was confirmed dead, while nine others were critically injured in an accident that occurred on Abeokuta-Lagos expressway on Sunday.
Fatai Bakare, the FRSC Unit Commander in Itori, told newsmen that the lone accident involved a red Mazda bus with the registration number: Lagos MUS 418 XE.
He said that the accident took place on the Abeokuta-Lagos expressway at Itori village, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun.
"The bus lost control when the driver suddenly ran into the bad portion of the Itori Bridge and crashed into the bush.
"The bridge is about a kilometre away from our office (Itori Unit Command of FRSC),” he said.
Bakare, who attributed the cause of the accident to over-speeding, said that the driver could have managed the situation if he was not on top speed.
He said that the passengers, three males and six females, who were critically injured, had been rushed to Ifo General Hospital for medical attention.
He said that one of the female passengers of the bus died on the way to hospital, while nine others were still in very critical conditions.
