Calabar - An unidentified suspected armed robber was shot dead on Tuesday by officers of the Cross River State Police Command, Punch reports.
The robber was part of a five-man armed robbery group who were carrying out robbery operations at Efangha Close in the Eight Miles area of Calabar.

The armed robber was said to have died during a gun duel with the police while trying to escape with four others in a pickup van that was stolen from one of their victims.
The police said the other robbers who are at large will be apprehended very soon as the command is on their trail according to the Police Public Relations Officer, Hogan Bassey.
