Oyo chief in court for forgery

Oyo - A traditional chief in Ile Ife, Oyo State, has been arrested for allegedly for forging travel documents.

Koilo Adelodun Emmanuel has subsequently been arraigned before the Igbosere Magistrate Court Lagos on a three-count charge of felony, wit and forgery.

Police alleged that German Embassy officials arrested the suspect and handed him over to the police when they discovered that the Guaranty Trust Bank Plc Ado Ekiti Branch statements of account No 0118447783 and a counterfeit border crossing stamps of Nigeria and United Arab Emirates on a Nigeria Passport No Ao2474959 he presented to process documents to travel abroad were forged.

The Police Prosecutor Inspector, Adoga Amedu, told the court in charge No
A\33\2014 that the accused committed the offence at the German Embassy office on Victoria Island, Lagos.

The accused however pleaded not guilty to the charge.

He has been granted bail to the sum of N100 000.

The matter has been adjourned to July 7 for mention.
