Ibadan - Seven suspects were on Wednesday paraded by the Oyo State Police Command for various offences including murder, stealing and fraudulent conversion of goods.
ACP Dasuki Galadanchi, who is in charge of the state Criminal Investigation Department (CID), told newsmen that the suspects were arrested in various locations in the state after thorough investigation.
Galadanchi said that one of the suspects was arrested in connection with the murder of one Seun Adaramoye, a 28-year-old female student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso.
He said the suspect was arrested by the CID on receipt of the case which was transferred from Owode Ogbomoso Police Station.
The police boss said that the suspect, after investigation, revealed that Adaramoye was killed by her boyfriend, who was at large.
Galadanchi also told newsmen that four suspects were arrested for obtaining money under false pretence.
He said one of the suspects had collected N17.8million and various other sums yet to be ascertained through fraudulent means.
Galadanchi said that the suspect was arrested in Ogbomoso and had confessed to being involved in money ritual with others presently in Lagos.
Among the suspects was a 50-year-old who was arrested in connection with stealing and conversion of goods valued at N1.2 million.
The police boss said the suspect was arrested over the diversion of goods from its original destination to an uncovered warehouse in Molete area of Ibadan.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that some of the exhibits displayed were bags of chemicals as well as 586 cartons of a particular brand of soap.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Olabisi Ilobanafor, told newsmen that the new Force leadership had recorded tremendous achievements in its efforts at ridding the state of crime.
She urged residents of the state to always provide information to the police on suspicious persons around them.
